'SPIRIT' AMERICA'S CUP YACHT - Sailing Yacht Charters on Sydney Harbour
Spirit was designed and built and skippered by Iain Murray as the 'people's challenger' for the America's Cup raced in San Diego in 1992.
Made from state-of-the-art composites, using the very latest construction methods and carrying a sail area almost twice that of the previous America's Cup, 12 metre yachts, Spirit remains very aesthetically pleasing with low freeboard and beautiful lines. Her effortless power and grace makes her the ultimate sailing charter yacht on Sydney harbour.
Since challenging in '92, Spirit has had extensive improvements made, allowing far greater flexibility for Sydney Harbour charter sailing and racing. Apart from all the necessary safety equipment required for commercial survey on Sydney Harbour, Spirit can now either cruise in comfort boasting teak laid decks, electric winches, and a self tacking jib, or she can hoist her full America's Cup Class rig in an awesome display of might and speed. At 75ft in length, with an 18ft beam and a clean uncluttered deck, she provides an extremely large and spacious platform for sailing charters, corporate sailing and racing.
Spirit can take up to 30 passengers comfortably and is ideal for a relaxed Sydney Harbour sailing charter, taking in the beautiful bays and famous sights - or perhaps for those keen on a little more action, compete in an afternoon or evening twilight race from one of the clubs around the harbour. Spirit would be provided with a small crew of professionals and a skipper, and guests may participate in the sailing as much or as little as they wish. Catering and beverages can be provided to suit your requirements, or you may wish to use your own caterer.
